What can Christ’s Path with Money Illumine for Us? We now reach an impass with the old ways of thinking about and being with Money. Most of us can intuit our economic situation is broken but few exemplify a new paradigm. What can we learn from the many stories, deeds, and conversations of Christ with Money? Can these stories offer inspiration for us now in the present as we re-frame our economic perceptions?
Creating a Context for Holy Week: From the very onset of His incarnation after the baptism, Christ encounters the Lord of Matter who offers Him a challenge that could be spoken as follows: Turn gold into bread if thou wouldst boast of Divine Power. From that encounter onwards, Christ Jesus continues to engage with the Lord of Matter, and uses Money as a medium to teach in parables and in deeds.
